The power trio of Try is just the power couple of original BF as a planned team instead of an event-created one, with the MS-loving girl as part of the team instead of being competition. Momo of the new team is one-of-the-boys (but still cute) Fumina with China's design sense. And I do think one of the characters is a true shout-out to the original story. A certain girl with a certain hair color with an otherworldy understanding of gunpla...

Forgive me for misspeaking - Try did succeed in bringing us a bevy of Gunpla Waifus. I adore Fumina and Gyanko, even Shia to an extent. But dude... Fumina with China's cuteness? Mmmmmm, yes... the mysterious silver haired girl, trope I'm extremely fond of. Aila was always my absolute top favorite Gunpla girl in BF period. It's nice to see Sera will likely be continuing in that vein.
