Comment on Judges 15:15-16 (The Jawbone) by Parastos
Why is Samson such a big deal anyway? There were lots of other judges too. Yet people always talk about Samson. Personally I like Deborah because she's a strong woman. New testament doesn't allow for strong women like Deborah.
There are a lot of strong women in the New Testament: Elizabeth, the Mother of God, Mary Magdalene, Mary and Martha, Thekla, the daring widow, the woman at the well, etc etc.
Thekla was in the Bible? I had no idea. Must be in acts. But yeah I don't like those examples of women because they're renowned mothers and had no personal achievements. Also there are seemingly sexist things in the new testament. Although I don't remember sexism in the OT.
