That's why I go by Memory Alpha and the sites on the External Links linked on the article. In this case, it's only the combadge. I thought the pips were too, but maybe they go silver after First Contact. I'm attempting to graphic novel my fanfic so I'm obsessing. Also I try to make my sure my fanfic is super accurate because people like to nitpick...but it's what we Trekkies do, right?. ^_^

Whoa, wait. Why would they only keep these uniforms around for 2 years and then change up again? Although, the uniforms seem to change every 3-5 years anyway, so what am I talking about. XP
Oh, there's tons of justification and retconning...but you can blame Generations probably, 'cause OMG BIG BUDGET LET'S REDESIGN THE UNIFORMS AGAIN. I think I read somewhere on MA (there's a few different uniform articles) that the previous TNG design became an enlisted design, or something like that...Ex Scientis Astria has more background I think.
