I remember that, but I'm trying to explain how prior to that (this was long before the bombing), Boston was put on lockdown for what police assumed was a potential bomb threat.  Apparently, the device in question was a battery-powered LED circuit board with wires that resembled a Lite Brite toy.  Also of note, despite being in 10 other cities, no other city (not even New York) smashed the panic button over the devices and even though there were no deaths or injuries, it certainly proved how paranoid we as Americans were at the time.
