I have gimp, I just don't like the marker tools in it.
Have you tried Vectors???

It might take a while to figure it out, but I personally LOVE
working with vectors!!! 
You should try it, it gives you more precision, and you can control more the strokes are all editable, which is not the case when you work with pixels
