So much better then the god awful canon designs. These are at least not twigs.

Body shaming isn't cool.

Excuse, pencil thin and samey  is not healthy or realistic and shows utter laziness.

They're cartoons. Fantasy =/= reality and if your kid doesn't get that you have bigger issues than a skinny cartoon kid. If parents/caretakers aren't lazy and teach their kids how to tell the difference they won't have to worry about their kids getting bad messages from TV shows. Their biggest influence comes from the people around them. If they have a healthy support system that from the start let's them know they're loved and accepted no matter how they look and who encourage them to stay fit for health's rather than looks sake they will be fine.

These are anime redrawn, something pretty common on this art.

True, but still, professional artwork should be so much better.

The other trouble are the dolls. This was made AFTER the barbie-like dolls were made for the toy line.

Yeah, indeed. QAfter that, there was little to do to make it work. That's why everybody in the main protagonists in the first movies wore skirts as civilian clothes.

So yeah, it's not likely to change anytime soon.
