Exactly, even though it makes stuff that much better when you do sneak on a Dire Caragor with like 6 Caragors behind you behind a random patrol of 5-6 Uruks and they don`t notice a thing before one of them gets eaten by a Dire ... while others promptly get eaten by the other 6 kitties. 
Yeah, I can see how satisfying that would be. 
Even more so if you suddenly attack a camp with your pack and they all survive.
That must be nice. Have you ever tried naming all of your caragors?
Nah, since Mordor is a deadly place for both Orc and beast.
So you don't want to get attached. Makes sense.
