I wish they'd go back to writing the comics like the old stuff, too. Not all of them, mind you. I know plenty of people like the new material. I'd just love for there to be a handful of throwback titles that just let themselves wallow in the four-color silliness of old superhero antics.
Agreed. If there's one thing the Snyder flicks have taught us, it's that ANGST and SUPERMAN doesn't mix.
Batman is angst. He does angst well. Superman should be bright, colorful, cheery, and something that I can share with my kids.
...with some exceptions. The late Adam West showed that Batman can be bright, colorful, cheery, and for the kids, too.
This is true. I'm just saying that angst suits Bats way better than Supes.
