The detail in the background is quite nice. I like the way the white unicorn is over the dark background and the dark one is over a light background.
Yeah, I tried to achieve the vice-versa- effect here... I only think, that I could have have strenghten the dark part a bit more... however, it seems to work the way ist is

Yes, if you had made the left side of the background a little darker, that would make the effect stronger and might improve the overall composition slightly. It works though and may not be worth changing anything! 
Phew - glad you think so, Anna! I fear that I would do some damage if I try to make the left side darker, so I`m happy not to touch it again .
