I remember back when X-Men Evolution was on the ship was popular since the show was doing high-school love drama but only as a b-plot. Rogue was in love with Scott who was in love with Jean who was in love with high school A-hole Duncan. Honestly, I enjoyed the the love triangles so much that I wouldn't have minded if they just cut out all the super-hero Mutant stuff and just made it an animated high-school romance toon.
It's probably why I enjoy Clone High so much.
