The ballsy attitude was missing from the sequels and the remake, which was proof that sometimes you can't do it again. But then everything really came together; the TV shows and commercials, the unappreciated police, the absolute SOB villains, the gentrified corporate city absorbing the combat zone, the industrial wasteland, the cyborg cowboy, all great stuff. When the Cyberpunk and Shadowrun RPGs came out we were ready for them!
