Reading Sun Tzu might benefit Ahadi right about now. :plotting:

Aye. Sun Tzu, I know a good deal about him (as in, certain things he said). An absolute master of tactics

For sure. Some of his advice is a might bit outdated... BUT a lot of it still holds true. Even for situations other than war. :ninja:

True. It's funny though that Sun Tzu isn't as well remembered, for someone who added so much to the "arts of war".

Don't know if you knew this, but basically the importance of an historical character is measured by the "waves" they leave behind. Just like with boats; the larger the boat/ship, the larger the waves they leave behind.

Just curious actually, based on this parable, which one do you think is the greatest historical figure?

This is also true.

Yep, absolutely. Just like today with franchises and media (the "fictional histories/historical figures [aka characters]" of our time) - the bigger and more popular it is over a long period of time, the more it's remembered because those stories and names get repeated and passed down. It makes me sad to think that so many cultures (and their legends and historical/true figures and stories) were lost to time over the centuries due to wars, conquerors, and having to integrate themselves into other cultures to survive.

Honestly... it's hard to say for EVERYWHERE who is the greatest historical figure. But I think that one of them for the Western world certainly is Jesus. He was only around for a short time before He was killed, but He left a huge impact on society and human development for centuries and centuries afterwards.

Aye.

Funny you say it's Jesus - that's exactly where I was going to.
Would you believe it if I said that Jesus is considered the greatest historical figure in all countries? Not "officially", but if you'd ask people around, most of them would say Jesus - just whether they believe what He said and did is another matter.
He has the most followers around the world, despite having the strongest persecutions.

Do you believe in Him, actually? (if it's alright me asking you this :) )

LOL Had a feeling, actually. :XD:
And, yes, I have heard that. Most places around the world have heard of Jesus in some fashion or another, whether they believe or not or whether they know much (even if it's in name only).

I am a Christian, yes. :) And it's always okay to ask me where I stand in religion or politics, or whatever. If I don't want to answer something, I'll just say so. :aww:
