I very much adore the background. The overall feeling of the painting reminds me a lot of an oil painting (I have a traditional media background). I also like the darker colors of this piece, I think they fit the character very well. The only thing I am not so sure about is angle of the webs. But that is a minor thing I think. I really do like this piece
