Very nice.
I kind of liked this hard, spoiled child look on the face of the previous version, but this softer and thoughtful mood fits great too. I'd say that on the previous version was a man who felt himself superior since childhood and later it led to his downfall. But here is young man with such a promise in him - and what comes later will be even more tragic because of that.
(I am no artist, but big fan of Tolkien work, as you probably understand from my comment.)
