One reason I dont like trophy hunting is beacause alot of people do it at game farms. Thats what bugs me most. In the wild the animals have more of a chance to escape, while at a game ranch, espeshally small ones, the animals have much less of a chance of getting away, because they are surrounded by a fence.. Population control hunting is also fine, e.g wild hogs.

Yeah, I'm definatley not a fan of "canned hunting", i dont see how an animal harvested on a small fenced property is even a trophy, i mean its no different from cattle or chicken because the animals have no chance of escaping death so they might as well call it "shoot your own animal for this amount of money" instead of hunting. :/ It really upsets me because canned hunting gives hunting and hunters a bad name.

You mean canned trophy hunting?
As Gazzelles said, those trophy hunters put a lot into the economy in some areas where it is needed. Oh and to add to that, because game meat cannot be sold or left to rot. Meat is also given to a special program called Hunters for the Hungry.

You really should worry about decimation of population. The rules in U.S. are very strict. Hunting often occurs during a certain season and there is a strict number hunters are allowed to hunt. That and only an animal at a certain age can be killed and only if that animal is not carrying or have any babies along with it. Mainly males are hunted but they sometimes will allow hunting of females for a very short amount of time and again only at a strict amount. A lot of money in the U.S. used for conservation actually comes from hunting. There are other methods but so far hunting has been a big contributor and with the laws in placed and constantly being enforced. We are able to keep population down but at a healthy amount. Sometime even above that.
