It's a lovely painting- I'm really impressed by your watercolor technique. It has a nice old Hollywood feeling to it; Armand reminds me of George Sanders from "Forever Amber" (but with more authentic costuming). I love the details of the sword hilt and the gloves. Very elegant!

What kind of watercolor paints do you use, and what specific kind of paper?

Thanks a lot! :D I read this book, but I haven't seen this movie...
I used russian watercolor paints "White nights" and chinese paper.

Do you paint on a block of watercolor paper to keep it from buckling? Or do you paint on individual sheets?

On individual sheets.

How do you keep them from buckling? Do you tape the edges down?

No, I put it udner the press later :) I think it is possible because this paper is good!

I wish it were available in the States! I prefer to paint on loose sheets instead of watercolor blocks, but then the sheets buckle... bleh. What kind of press do you use?
