If you believe in love at first site then you're technically going off of looks. Never, never ever judge someone by how they look. You could think someone is a jerk when they might just be the perfect person for you. You could be a stereotypical "giddy cheerleader" type person and your "soul mate" might be dressed as a stereotypical goth.

Same goes for pick-up lines and techniques. The funnier they are the better score you should give them! c:

Well maybe not literally.. if you allow it to stretch a bit, to more along the lines of "love at first meeting", maybe? I see what you're getting at; it's like seeing someone on the bus or street who looks intimidating, but could be the nicest person you meet for miles. Etc etc.
I don't know real love stories personally (I think I'm kinda young for that, hehe) but I've overheard or heard third-hand of people who've met their "soul mate" and fallen head-over-heels for their character. Like, I heard of a guy completely reforming so that he'd be the best for someone he fell in love with first time meeting.
And what-have-you. c: I doubt it can happen very often for real (because me being a bit of a cynic, I see a lot of relationships as being at least a little superficial).. but the real stories make the romantic in me go 'awwwww'.
