The problem is the length of time between updates. I wouldn't complete a chapter except every few months. I will be working 46+ hours a week over the next year or two at least with my internship in India. So I won't be able to give updates often, so most people would forget what they last read. As you mentioned, I'll be able to give hopefully at least one page a week and it'll still be fresh in memory.

Plus I DO want the most possible views, as greedy as it sounds. I want this comic to eventually become my job, and for that, I need exposure and views. I am willing to cater to people who prefer different types of reading. I plan to do only the page by page on Tapastic and then both versions on dA. If anything, there will be one update a week and two updates every other month or so. I don't really see how that's too much? Some people post drawing every single day, so once a week shouldn't be a problem.  Between the three versions (2 on dA and one on Tapastic), that should cover everyone. :'D
That's not greedy at all! It's thinking in business terms, an absolute MUST if you want to someday monetize this comic. Or use it as exposure for future projects that would be monetized. So never apologize for seemingly obsessing about how to maximize profits and popularity for the betterment of your exposure as an artist and the exposure of a project itself. I think that format of updating things is perfect. I don't think it'll be annoying inbox-wise either for your watchers.
