Aha, well I agree that I worry way too much. I did this more or less to see if I could get a public view and look for bad habits I might have. :'D I definitely would love to do some original artwork. I have so many random sketches laying around I wanna finish.

Haha, Damai has a point here. I guess the love you share while drawing your favourite things, can be seen by others. ^^ But I also think a good mix of all your answers in the poll would be fine. Communication with others is very important of course but also so many other things at DA. I simply do what I like to do now...at this very moment. If I feel like doing a poll or writing critique or browsing through groups I'll do it.

I guess other than my comic,I never draw for me anymore. I feel insane guilt when I take even just an hour to draw something for me that is totally original and has nothing to do with anything.
I love doing comic work, so I am working more on that, but as I said before, I feel guilty working on it when I could be doing commissions. I feel like I am judged as a bad or lazy person if I even think about doing personal art.

No way! You're absolutely not lazy or something. It's hard doing commissions, if you don't like the theme or characters or the setting. ^^ I really appreciate artists which do their own stuff. It inspires me. Well, I love doing fanart from my very favourite characters, but it's not that creative. (I only draw OCs if I have something special in mind) If no one would draw his personal artworks, DA would be very boring... and of course I love comics! They are awesome! So go for it!
Commissions sometimes are good to get some cash, but won't you get forward in beeing yourself. Only if your satisfied whit what you're doing you'll get better and even more recognizable. ^^ I'll cheer for you!

Commissions I do pay my bills. I need them to afford things, I do not do them just for quick cash. Most of my commissions are private or off of dA. So I feel trapped in doing commissions to survive and never having time for personal art. I have another normal job but I hate it even more than always doing commissions. Between 2 jobs, I still barely make enough to survive.
Well, that's a complicated situation... Have you ever thought of patreon? Maybe you'll be able to do what you love to do and make money with it there. You have many watchers, so it might work well.
I have a patreon and have for months, I have all of 11$ I get from it each month. So I'm not betting on it, though I am trying to get more people onto Patreon. It would be ideal, but for right now, it's not working.
