I was born in 1990, so in a way I am both a 90s kid and a 2000s kid.

I do have 90s bonafides though: I grew up when Britney Spears came on the scene, the Spice Girls were super popular, boy bands were all the rage, mobile phones were clunky, the Internet was excruciatingly slow and ugly, and at least for us who grew up in the Philippines, I still remember seeing a black-and-white TV here or a rotary-dial telephone there.

My cut-off is a bit more simple. Simply put, if you're a digital native (someone who grew up surrounded by technology), and you don't know of the world as it was before smartphones and pervasive use of the Internet, you're not a 90s kid. Those raised in the 1990s are generally as fluent in digital technology as digital natives, but still know of a world before it and can exist without it.
