Oh, I forgot to let you know what's going on. Here it is reposted:

11/12/11: My video card stopped working last night, so my post-processing has been postponed until the time that my monitor can display things. To the eleven or so people I took photos of: some turned out okay, many good, some great.

02/01/11: My original video card started working again, perhaps because it wasn't such a hot day, but by then I had already bought a better replacement. I put it in and used my colorimeter to recalibrate my monitor, but I wasn't satisfied with the results. Specifically, the blacks are way too bright. I can't remember if it's always been like this or not, but when I open Photoshop and make a solid black rectangle, it looks charcoal-coloured.

My monitor is only two years old, but it's a TN type that is not really fantastic for colour accuracy. I am going to replace my Dell SX2210 with an Asus PA246Q, which is P-IPS. But, as I am currently on mandatory unpaid leave, I won't have it for a couple of weeks.

The upshot is that while this is the slowest I've ever been to show results from a MelCosPho meet, my photos are likely to be better than they otherwise would have been. That'll count for more in the long run, I hope.

07/01/12: A monitor better than the one previously described and a newer model colorimeter have both been ordered and are on their way, but I have not yet received them. I have promised ~HijaCosplayTiemz that the first photo I post-process will be of her, with Magnet, Lily, Maya Fey, and the others to follow.
