I love Heretic II, I made a huge gothic cathedral map on there using revamped textures to evoke the original Heretic maps... it was beautiful. I might have to take some snapshots and post them in my scraps some day.

Your map sounds cool. Let me know if you post screenshots. I also wish someone would post a Let's Play video of Heretic II. There's one on YouTube, but it's with the game being run in software mode, and it looks like crap. So many great set pieces in that game -- the Celestial Watcher, the swamp level, the insect burrow, etc.
Oh, I know. It took me a little bit to get over the intro video (I just felt that there was some definite character-rape committed towards D'sparil in that) but once I did, that game FILLED me with glee
