With same-gender ships we are all for it! 
As long as they don't stereotype the characters (like mentioned), whether canon or non-canon (this is also true for straight/bi ships). Then the character is well-written.
That goes for ALL ships actually. I think most people can agree (except a few groups online) that ANY ships that're forced like: enemy x enemy, incest, pedophilic ships, or stranger ships tend to be really shallow in plot and creation and poorly written...whether gay, straight, or whatever the orientation.
So you could say we are against the cliches like above.
