I'm actually going to be around Brisbane, but I think I'll definitely have to travel to Sydney!
Emus roaming free sounds hilarious and terrifying - I'll put that on my list.
I like visiting national parks, beaches, coffee shops. Does Luna Park have more than one location?
How real is the threat of scary spiders on an average day? Is there an amazing mall or shopping place that I must visit?

Brisbane is nice, but very hot so I've heard :)
Oh. Ohmygod I just realized you'll be close by to our theme parks; Seaworld, Wet'n'wild, Movie World, Dream World and White Water World...I think Australia Zoo is nearby [Think of the late Steve Irwin]...I'm sure there's more.
You should definitely go to one of those! I think it's Dream world where you can interact with Tiger cubs [not sure if they still do that] and Sea world they have polar bears :D

Yes, yes but do travel to Sydney :D
It is :) I used to do volunteer work [landscaping] at the Australian Reptile Park...one time we were given free feed to feed all  the free-roaming animals of the park. I looked to the left of my friend as we fed some ducks and one of the young emus was staring at her inches away from her face just waiting for us to give it food lmao! Gave her a fright.

Brisbane will have access to plenty of beaches, but no matter where you go on Australia's coastline you'll hit a beautiful beach :D
No, sorry. Luna Park is only in Sydney, across from our Opera House :) [but those other theme parks will be so much better I'm sure...although expensive probably]
Hmmmm the threat of scary spiders...well I've come across funnel webs [the absolute worst] maybe 5+ times in my life [I'm 21] and red backs maybe 100+...uhhh wolf spiders, huntsmans etc on the odd month. Okay, so I'm guessing you'll come across a fair few of our scary spiders within your first few weeks...particularly humid areas [like Brisbane lol]
I've actually had a spider mere centimetres from my eye in the blankets on my bed :dummy:

No, we don't really have amazing malls to my definition of amazing malls [we just say shopping centre too lol]...but if anything Brisbane might actually be different and it may have a big mall I'm not sure.
Are you coming close to Easter time at all? Even though it is another Sydney event we have a huge Easter Show :D! Lots and lots and lots to do in that.

Sorry for the long post :)

No, I love all the info, thank you!
I'm going in the Spring of 2017 - so Easter yes. What's the Easter show like?
"Shopping centre" got it lol - Is there a store you go to sometimes that has like everything? food, clothes, home stuff?
I'll save up some money for the theme parks! Those sound fun - and the zoo!
I'm officially extremely terrified to encounter spiders now ...
Thanks for taking the time to answer all my questions! You're amazingly helpful :D

Ahhh, well for us Easter is in Autumn :) Doesn't really matter, it's usually warm enough here to still feel like summer/spring depending on the days.
Easter show [imo] is amaze :D it's at Sydney Olympic park/show grounds, covers a massive amount of land with rides [think like bumper cars, ferris wheel, slingshot etc], show bag stalls, animal competitions like pure bred dogs/cats and sheep herding competitions, mega domes for more shopping and show bags, equestrian shows/competitions....it's kind of just one giant mishmash of heaps of things...but it's so fun. So. Many. Stalls.

Yeah our bigger shopping centre's have all that, food, clothes, home stuff...depends on how big the city is. Where I am our big shopping centres are "Westfield" shopping centres. My closest "Westfield" is Westfield Mount Druitt. In there there's a food court, like 50 clothes stores/other, supermarkets, pawn shops, decoration stores, dollar stores etc. This is literally what I say when I want to go to this place "Wanna go mounty?" or just "wanna go shops?" That is the fine culture that is Aussie language hahaha.

Yes you'll need a fair bit of money saved up for those theme parks though, for the best experience :) I actually have never gone to any of these places yet, so you're lucky if you go :)

Hahaha, don't worry you shouldn't come across too many. I've only been bitten by a spider once to my knowledge [if I am remembering correctly] and it was tiny and only left a little red spot on me. You can usually spot the big ones before they can get to you. Most of the time they honestly just want to run away and not get spotted. One of our biggest spiders is harmless [Huntsman] but sure look horrible.

You're welcome/thank you :D I don't mind, I like being asked anyway :meow:

Oh geez I keep forgetting everything is backwards there ... but i'll be there in my winter/spring 2017 ... which means your summer/fall of 2017? Like February to June of 2017.
The Easter celebration sounds like our State Fairs! Is there any religious aspects to it? or is it all just fun?
"Wanna go mounty?" ... sounds like your asking if you want to turn Canadian lol. I like it! Teach me more!

Lol it really is backwards here ;) Considering our Christmas' are blistering hot.
Yup. February is our last month of Summer. March, April and May are Autumn/Fall and June is our beginning of Winter.
I honestly don't know if we have any religious aspects to the Easter Show [I've never seen anything particularly religious stick out, and being non Christian or Catholic myself [not that I'm not religious at all] I haven't noticed anything before.

Aussies are for the majority laid back about religion [from my experience]. I mean we have our strict Catholics and Christians and a number of other religious groups, but not a lot is made a big deal of unless the event is expressly about religion. Sooo I'd assume this particular event is mostly for fun :)

Lmfao I never thought of it like that! Canadian mounties. I like it better now lol. I wish I could be a horse cop.

What would you like to know :P
Straight off the bat [is that a term Americans use? straight off the bat??] I'd say you'd want to know these few terms: Servo [gas station or service station], Bottle-O or Grog shop [liquor store], Cop shop [police station], Maccas [McDonalds] uhhh.
Yeah I can't think of much else right now :giggle: I've added you to my Deviantwatch now anyway, that means I can tell you more about Australia too yay :dummy:

Okay so the second I get there I am going to have to hit all the beaches and go hiking EVERYWHERE.

I was just asking because here (at least in and around my family) it feels like Easter can only be celebrated by going to church and eating candy basically, which is odd for me since I'm not religious (even though I grew up religiously). So, you're Easter sounds WAY MORE fun :D I think i'm really going to like Aussies

I'd like to know just basics, like classics for saying Hi and Bye. Like here, saying "Hi" and "Hey" is more casual interactions, while "Hello" is strictly reserved for overly formal people and answering the telephone.

We do say "straight off the bat" lol - I also say "straight up" and "legit" a lot.

I added you too!

Hahaha, sounds like it. Take lots of photos, too :)

Yeah that's fair enough. It is if you get to go to the Easter Show! Otherwise we give each other normal chocolate Easter eggs, sometimes have an Easter egg hunt, sometimes have a barbecue with family. I guess the most religious people here do go to church. I never got brought up that way though.
Lmfao I hope you do like us Aussies :D Sometimes we can be misunderstood creatures :p

No worries [there's one, we say no worries a lot lol]. For hello it's the same I guess, a casual hi or hey, hello for telephones, maybe if you're talking to an older person/senior. G'day is an Aussie thing but not all of us say G'day. We swear a lot :| I mean maybe not everyone...but you'll probably hear a lot of swearing. Then again, I don't know about Brisbane. Lots of bogans swear.

Yeah...I didn't think it'd just be an Australian thing, I just haven't heard anyone else say it to me yet :)
Oh my god you say legit too. Legit is a thing we say here a lot. Or the youth do.

Thank you ~! :D

Also, I was wondering if you watched the show The 100? - because two of the main actors in it are from Australia (Eliza Taylor and Bob Morley)
