Hmm.. the word "high" is depend on the person (and the products) 
. You should calculate from your life expenses, market rates, work hours, skills, the quality of the art you make, etc ^^ to be honest if you see many artists they usually put higher than my commission rate. Hope this answer helps

I think it's not a trend. Younger artist doesn't mean that they should sell less xD creative industries always look at the market ^^
I sell intros, items that stress my computer, for $8. Eight dollars.
