No they didn't but well, if you don't want to support the people to know if they had their art/sprites stolen I suppose it's ok. Are your rules and group after all.

It's not about assembling an angry mob. One report solves nothing. That's why I need to communicate about the stolen art to the legitimate artists. I that's what the groups and community is about, to help each other. Anyways, I don't understand why it is "bad" and why would you hide a comment about an artist thief. It isn't like I am announcing myself or spamming the group everywhere, I'm just trying to help this people.

First of all, It's not a group related problem, it's on reddit. Report it on reddit.
Secondly, The rules only apply to what happens within this group. I don't have any control on off site problems.
If you want to contact the people who's art has been stolen then send them a note. If you don't know who's art has been stolen. Then it's just spam.
