You're welcome! It was a beautiful picture. What program do you use? I just got photoshop Cs6 and I am having such a hard time with it lol.

Thanks! I use Photoshop CS6 now, but I was still using GIMP when I did this manip. It has definitely been a loooong learning curve with Photoshop, and I still probably only know how to use 10% of its capabilities, lol. When I was using GIMP, everyone said it did 95% of what Photoshop did (and is free)...but I'm afraid that's just not true; Photoshop is so much more powerful, if also more complicated. But GIMP does have a few neat tricks that I still go back to it for every now and then.

Oh okay, I hadn't heard of GIMP before. Photoshop CS6 is supposed to be the best out there right now but I wouldn't know haha. Do you use a tablet? I don't and am wondering if the tablet makes it easier to use the program.

Yeah, GIMP is a great program (especially for the price, lol), but if you already have CS6 then I wouldn't switch. I don't use a tablet, mostly because I absolutely, positively, CANNOT draw. Wish I could, but no such. Even though I've started creating some original spacescape pieces, everything I do originates from an existing image, texture, pattern, or brush, even if I modify it to the extent it's unrecognizable.

The best advice I can think of for using Photoshop is, identify just a couple of tools that you understand how to use at least a little bit and that are useful in making your art (things like curves, or color balance, or the paintbrush, or the blur filters - or whatever you're kinda comfortable with). Then just use those for a while; get pretty good at them. Don't worry about the other 3,872 features PS "supposedly" has. Once you're comfortable with those, try out a new tool - figure out how it works and the cool things you can do with it. Rinse, repeat :)

Yeah, I will stick with CS6. But thank you for the advice! I will practice more on learning how to master the tools and I suppose I will do further research into getting a tablet for drawing/painting purposes. Thanks again :)

The people I've talked to here that use a Wacom tablet seem to like it :)

Okay, yeah I have heard of that kind before. I am wondering if it is easy enough to use that its worth the money or if it will just make things more difficult for me lol. I'll have to look into it.
