I've been trying hard to learn all this art stuff, glad it's showing. And I seriously doubt you're stupid with regard to the render settings, it's just not the most intuitive interface in the world. I still can't fully get it to behave. Spent a few days last week trying to render images that just plain would not go more than 100 iterations before finishing, and they looked like crap. With my normal settings! Oh, the joys of computer art.
Fast Fog Iray is okay, but I have a rough time getting it to look like I want. A lot of time I put fog in with Photoshop these days, because like you, I don't like a lot of the fog products I've purchased. I'm really liking Dawn To Dusk 2. It's not really fog, but it does a very nice volumetric effect, and it's easy. Really easy. And it doesn't make the render times go all crazy like some of the others do.

Yeah, sometimes I fake it Photoshop and lately looks better than the purchased content. I've the better part of the day uploading Ultimate grass and meadow with 25 MB to go out of much more than 3,000. Jeeze, I hope I like it. The first time I tried dForce sheet over a figure I went wow, the sheet went completely through the figure and the bed,

I can't do the dForce thing either. Want a laugh? I wrote up a blog post right before I got insanely sick. There's a bit more swearing than I remember, but it sure does capture the joys of the experience.

Yeah, usually I buy a product, I can't work it I say ef it for a couple of months open it back up and now I can work it. So far I'm enjoying Ultimate Meadow and Grass new to Daz but works like a Vue scene; five big files to upload. I'll try to post two renders dry field and green field late tonight.Not wild about the dome image but I usually shut it off and build a different sky. Liked the blog a lot. I feel one should never paid to be a beta tester for someone's product.
Those were gorgeous scenes, by the way. Very peaceful. And yeah, I agree with you a hundred percent! We shouldn't be stuck with working out bugs in new products and features.
