Well, llamas tend to be how I meet most people, but sometimes people will watch as a way of saying “thank you” even when they have no interest in my art, haha. It’s always exciting to meet another fan of Nos-4-a2! I hope I do him justice :D

Wow, really? Thank you very much! What kinds of things do you like to draw?

Non realism, and characters over backgroungs. But the purpose of the give away was to get practice, and if that's in areas where I normally don't challenge myself that's fine. I have a very hard time finishing my OWN projects, but if its for some one else I feel this sense of duty. So...really anything. I can redraw ocs, do fanart from anything you can link me to a picture of, or if you wanna go weird I can do minimalistic stylization like this, or mandalas like this.

And so far I think you do Nos-4-a2 pretty well. He's a flexible character, dark and foreboding but not beyond doing silly things...like the entire 'trying to kidnap XR in the sewers' scene in the actual show. Its interesting, but he's one of the few characters I've come to like where shipping him with OC's works just as well as shipping him with cannon characters or crossovers. Maybe because he's a loner, and he doesn't have an 'in group' that the OC would have to worm their way into, so it doesn't end up seeming Mary Sue-ish.

Have you tried doing more doodles and small sketches instead of approaching everything as a full piece? I don’t know if that would help you, but I know I had the same problem with my writing a few years back, and I only improved when I started focusing on finishing just 100 words every day. Before I knew it, I was writing a full page with the same energy I used to need to write a single paragraph!

If you’re looking for requests, though, would you be willing to draw this dude? sta.sh/0d8yhfcmux6, sta.sh/0nc2sh7rhkq

And thanks regarding Nos! I agree, he allows for a lot of flexibility considering his independence and how many times he was “killed” on screen, plus the fact that his final destruction was never revisited. My version of him is post-redemption-arc, so I’m sure you could tell he’s written very differently ^^;

I definitely prefer redemption Nos, its fun watching him find a comfortable happiness...but also to watch him squirm while he tries to reconcile what he was built for with what he's growing into.

I do sketches sometimes, I don't finish everything, but most of the time if I'm happy with a sketch I then want to line it and colour it. Lining is my favorite part...quick and easy and I'm good at it. Colouring is fun because I get to play with layering and practicing shadows. The sketch part is the part I don't like, finishing the piece is the reward I get for struggling through the sketch. By 'not finishing' my projects, I mean that I get annoyed half way through the sketch and never get back to it.

I can absolutely take a crack at Fletcher, but I'm slow, so it'll take a few days.

What a great way to put his transformation into words!

Oof, that definitely makes things more difficult, but I think you're taking the right approach by practicing.

And of course there's no rush, you don't have to do it at all, and I can't thank you enough!

He's the perfect villain for a redemption arch too...look at EVERYthing he did in the four show episodes that come after the initial act of hostility he was prompted to by his creator. It was all for food and incidental revenge on those who keep thwarting his attempts to eat.

Star Command seems to be startlingly fast to discount robot lives, considering how sentient the robots in that universe are. Like Nos himself says in a fanfic I'll probably never post, "Why waste resources reforming some one when you can recycle them instead?"

Yeah! I don’t think robots are even considered citizens. That’s how I explain away Nos-4-a2 being released through a relocation program for reformed villains: since he only ever attacked robots and was otherwise working under the influence of Zurg, he wasn’t charged with doing any permanent, irreversable damage. (Still earned himself permanent “planet arrest” and a lifetime on parole, but if he’d been attacking organics, they really wouldn’t have given half a thought to blowing him up whenever they could.)

I may just be speaking out of a craving for Nos content, but I hope you change your mind about posting that fanfic!

Its...very cringe. Its a continuation in the future of 'Nos meets Aurora and reforms'. My idea is that their friendship ends up developing to the point where they collect scrap together, and at some point her life winds up in danger and he saves her in public, and people cheer, and he gets a taste for heroics...because he finds it HILARIOUS to see both the fickle nature of people in general, and the Rangers realizing that he could have been a powerful ally all along if they'd just given him a chance instead of persecuting him for how he was built. The whole "You failed ME Rangers...but fret not, I'll play nice...if only to see that bewildered expression on your face" bit. Then...remember than episode where alternate universe versions of the team show up, with an evil Buzz and all that? Aurora tries an experiment that winds up sending them spiraling through the multiverse, landing in other dimensions and trying to work their way back home.

The story is set in an alternate universe where the Nos-4-a2 stayed dead after the wirewolf cannon incident, and follows THIS nos...Nos-4-a2.0, as he jokingly introduces himself, making amends to all the people his this-universe counterpart hurt, confusing them the whole while while being insufferably smug about being reformed...switching from falsely angelic to impishly amused as he tries to hold in his mirth.

The writing is awful, and there's little I can do to fix it. Nos's fluid, spastic movements, the quirky tone of the show, it doesn't translate well into writing. It starts with him rescuing Savvy SLQ and puts her out of character in doing so. Its too fast paced to make sense, and the tone switches back and forth too quickly. Its just...the epitome of 'bad fanfiction'. No real plot, just a series of events the writer wants to see, barely justified and clumsily connected, with some b level 'witty dialogue' thrown in for good measure.

I'll probably write more Nos, but that one...I can barely read it without rolling my eyes.
