I'm glad to hear you've had such an enjoyable semester then! We actually have less than 3 weeks ourselves before Christmas break. Still a lot of deadlines before then though, so it would be a relief to reach our break.
I hope to at least watch Over the Garden Wall when the break comes. I'm also planning to buy the last book in the ToddHunter Moon series, so I have a few things to catch up to myself after this sem. I'm not sure if Maus can be considered happy reading, but it's certainly very interesting and I particularly like how Spiegelman also talks about writing comics. I won't say anything more so I won't spoil you.
I actually saw the A Link to the Past legendary edition as well and I was wondering if I should buy it before the sem ends. The color pages is really tempting, and I like the extra character illustrations. But I also have my eye on the Spirited Away art book…hmmm.
Btw, I got my Miiverse post history yesterday, and it was fun scrolling through it. It's a shame the comments weren't included though, but it was nice. I haven't checked in with the Miiverse discors server, so I'm not sure if everyone's received theirs yet.
About my comic, I was hoping to work on it even if it's just rough drafts over the break. Not sure if I'll be able to do it by myself, but it would help me push my limits and I'd like to receive more feedback on it!

I hope you enjoy Over the Garden Wall! I don't know if I'm familiar with the ToddHunter Moon series. I started Maus and it is quite deep and really fascinating. I'm pretty sucked into it. I also find it interesting how he discusses writing comics.
That sounds like a tough decision... I know you've had your eye on that Spirited Away art book for quite some time now... Well, whichever you decide to go for, I know you'll enjoy it.
I'm bummed about not being able to see the comments as well, but I'm glad we at least get to save our posts! Oh, you're on the Miiverse discord server? The Miiiverse Hangouts one? I didn't know! I'm on there as well. I know a few people have gotten their post history and have shared some of their posts in the Miiverse Memories Community.
Best of luck on your comic drafts!

Hi Lengurkur! Time flew by and in a week's time my classes will start again. I haven't done half the stuff I planned to do this break lol. Mostly because I got sucked back into playing some old videogames and trying out Ace Attorney. Anyway, I just wanted to ask if you've checked out Archiverse - it's a website that hosts Miiverse archives, so profiles, posts, and even comments are available for viewing! I'll be checking my old posts for a bit and relive some old discussions. I hope you had a great holiday season :)

Oh wow, I hadn't heard of Archiverse until now! Thank you for sharing, I'll go check it out!

Hi Lengurkur! I saw your message on Discord but wasn't able to reply since I wasn't notified. I'm glad to see you there too! It might be a while before I get used to hanging around, but I'm sure glad to see so many familiar faces. Hopefully I'll get to post some art and maybe some of my short stories/fanfics in my break.
I finished reading Maus myself a few days ago. The class discussion was great, though we focused more on the relations of the artist and his work since it would be helpful if we chose to be nonfiction writers. I'm not really much of a nonfiction person, but I got interested in memoirs because of our class. We'll discuss Bechdel's Fun Home next, so we'll still be talking about comic-memoirs.
That being said, I miss reading fantasy, so I'll probably be finishing my 2 Eragon books over the break. I'm also excited to finish ToddHunter Moon. If you're familiar with the Magyk series of books, ToddHunter Moon in the trilogy sequel. I've yet to meet another fan of the series, but aside from Mistmantle Chronicles, this is my favorite children's fantasy series.

No problem! And sorry I didn't notify you, I tend to forget to do that when I'm using Discord. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your art over break! I'm going to be very busy over break (relatives are coming and we're going on two trips!) so I'm not sure how much art I'll be able to do or how much I'll be able to check in here, but I do have a little backlog of stuff I am hoping to post over the next few weeks.
That's great you had a good class discussion about it! I still need to finish it. I'm a little over halfway through now, I think. I haven't read the Magyk series, but I've definitely seen it around. The books have caught my eye on more than one occasion, but I'm not quite sure why I haven't picked them up yet. I should really get back to reading more fantasy myself. Today I actually dropped by our public library and when I was there I found the Welcome to Night Vale novel. I've recently become hooked on Welcome to Night Vale, which is a twice-monthly podcast set up as a radio news show reporting on the strange events in the town of Night Vale as if they were completely normal. I didn't think I'd be much of a podcast person, but I've really become invested in it. It's got a lot of Lovecraftian influences and because it's presented in an audio format and the characters and locations are all described in enough detail so you can start to picture your own interpretations, but not enough detail to make anything concrete, you have a lot of freedom to imagine things. The creators somehow managed to make a perfect balance between describing just enough to give you a vague picture of things but also leaving just enough open to interpretation. It's pretty magical and surreal, but also dark and occasionally funny.

Hi Lengurkur! Sorry if it's been a while - I just hurdled through my last college requirements and got a touch of flu, but I'm all better now. I'm actually on my break now, so I finally have time to kick back and return to drawing and writing for leisure I've heard of Welcome to Night Vale - I have a few friends who are fans of the podcasts, and I find it interesting myself! I didn't know there was a novel, maybe I'll check in my with friends on that one.
Btw, have you checked out the Champion's Ballad yet? I already finished the whole thing a few days ago. I won't discuss it in case you haven't, but I sure loved seeing the Champions again. Oh, and I also managed to pick up both StarChaser and the Art of Spirited Away. I tore through them already, and production notes on Spirited Away made me gain even more respect for the Ghibli team. Their take on applying digital techniques was amazing, and made me want to watch the film again. I probably will do so, and maybe get to draw some Spirited Away fanart.
I hope you get to have an awesome break as well. It sounds busy but fun!

I'm so sorry for such a late reply! Having relatives visiting for a month really threw things off for me. I'm still having trouble getting back into some of my daily routines.
Oh goodness, I'm glad you're over the flu! That must have been hard, but good thing you got through it! Oh, that's great you and your friends know of Welcome to Night Vale!
I haven't even touched my Wii U since the new year began. Well, I suppose that's not entirely true. I did download the DLC, but I haven't brought myself to play it yet. I'm just not in the mood for video games currently (and my poor Wii U and 3DS are collecting dust). I've been far more distracted with watching anime, drawing, and reading. In fact, I've been reading a lot of manga by the mangaka group CLAMP. Thank you for not spoiling anything having to do with the DLC. I'm sorry I haven't played it yet because I'm sure it'd be fun to discuss! Oh wow, that's awesome the Spirited Away art book is that great! Speaking of, I got the Over the Garden Wall art book recently, but haven't yet had the chance to read it. I flipped through it briefly and it reminded me of how gorgeous the background art is. I'm really quite excited to read it to learn some behind the scenes stuff.
I hope things have been going well for you, and again, I'm sorry for such a late reply!

No worries, I'm glad you've been doing well! I figured you must have been busy, but it's good to see you again. :)
My college semester is actually starting to pick up again, but we haven't gotten to the writing parts of our classes yet so I still have free time. I haven't been playing a lot of videogames either, though I managed to finish the original Ace Attorney trilogy and Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice. It's a pretty fun series.
Take your time playing through BotW, I really enjoyed the Champion's Ballad. I just hope you don't get accidentally spoiled, there's a lot of stuff about it online already.
Oh, and speaking of Over the Garden Wall, I finished it in the week before my semester started! I actually haven't browsed through your fanart yet since I didn't want to accidentally spoil myself, but I'll be glad to talk about it. The art book must be fantastic, I really loved the backgrounds used in the show as well. After finishing the show, I actually had this idea for a crossover between OtGW and BoTW, where Wirt and Greg wander into the Lost Woods and meet BotW Link. I don't have a concrete idea on how it will go yet, but I know Link won't speak until the end of the "episode" and there will be shenanigans where Link almost puts Jason Funderburker into a cooking pot. XD

Yeah, things got a bit busy for a bit, but I think I am slowly starting to get back to my normal schedule.
Ooo nice! I haven't played any Ace Attorney games, but I sure have heard a lot about them. Wasn't there a Professor Layton and Ace Attorney crossover game?
So far I've done a good job avoiding most everything spoiler-y about the Champion's Ballad. I do know there's something involving young Sidon, but that's about it.
Wonderful! And don't worry about looking at my fan art. Take as much time as you need. Sorry I didn't end up commenting on all of your art by the way. I saw all of it, but since I have so many things to catch up with here on Deviantart, I don't think I have the time to comment on all of them. Wow, I really love that crossover idea! OtGW has so much potential for crossing over into other fictional universes. Meeting BotW Link would make a great story. Haha I love that idea of Link mistaking Jason Funderburker for food!
