yea, i've gone through 3 60gb ps3's and now am stuck with the ugly not so bright 120gb slim that has yet to fail on me. they too also get the ylod, it just takes longer. give it time even possible the new super slim ps3s may get ylod too.

Yeah but they tend to fix those problems so that they don't happen for a lot longer. Not to mention that's how the world is, everything breaks down at some point.

true, but their supposed to last till the end of their generation which is usually 6-7 years. it was 5 yrs for the PS1 to the PS2 then 6 for ps2 to ps3, but even with the ps3 out, the ps2 was still being made and sold. i read an article the ps2 is finally done from 2000-2012. thats along time, my ps2 still works. so not everything well made is meant to break. thats just how quality and reliability is. my dads atari computer still works from 1983. back then no one expected them to last long, but being made well, its reliability outlasted a great long time. i own 4 gaming consoles that still work, and i've seen 6 that work with no problems. so its like 50/50 yea somethings aren't meant to last, and somethings are meant to last or to least get their good use out of.
