Nope, no college credits. Though I'm sure going to an art school would improve your skills 
Make a portfolio with your artwork, yanno, like tattoo type stuff, and even some of your fav personal work, and tote it around from shop to shop seeing if they are taking apprentices. It's kinda hard to get into, so be patient and persistent. But it's the BEST way to learn the ropes the RIGHT way. You will only benefit from learning from a pro - and not just scaring friends forever! If you have any questions feel free to note me

Yeah that is really good advice. only tattoo a friend if your 100% confident in what your doing. Just little things, you know? You just gotta get out there and start talking to tattoo artists.
