I heard of it beforehand, but a bit after it released, my sister asked me to watch. Also, I've been watching new anime recently, giving brand new ones a try.
Kinda sad it's almost over, but, at least it was pretty good, eh? I'd rather have something short and good than long and terrible.
Have you seen Death Parade, Another, or Naoki Urasawa's Monster? The show kind of reminded me of them in a "gritty" sort of way.

I have only seen Another, which reminded me of Corpse Party a lot (the game was really nice and disturbing, but the anime is very short but major trigger warnings I'm okay with gore, but that was a little overdone and even made me will a little queasy even though I'm usually really okay with that stuff)... I really liked Another even though it was feelsy and overdid the death count a little

I agree with you about Another, even it had me cringing, definitely overdone. I think that one classroom scene has forever left its mark in people's memories.
Death Parade is kind of like Another and a bit of Jigoku Shoujo, only its take on the genre is very interesting. I think it's something you have to watch, but it does have gross, gritty, or disturbing moments.
As for Naoki Urasawa's Monster, it's hard to explain. But it's very gritty. It's honestly one of my favourites along with Death Parade. But I liked Monster more than Death Parade, for sure.
