I think that's mostly because people like Ryan Reynolds (a.k.a. people that actually love the material) have control over certain properties like Deadpool... if Fox had complete control over these franchises, then we'd keep getting flops like Fant4stic and Terminator Genisys. Hopefully, Shane Black still knows what he's doing with Predator.
