Well, a lot of people tend to not understand things they do not take part in, so instead of being rude about it you should try to understand them. Sorry if this is mean, but it kind of angers me that you're acting like that...sorry. Anyways, we are very aware these characters do not exist, but like I commented, a lot of times its used as a coping method, and my friend's therapist said its a very healthy coping method. Its more of identifying with the character rather than as, if that makes sense. Anyways, its really hard to explain. I would try looking some articles up
