Who can say?

Honestly, this was exactly what I was expecting from the show. Mediocrity and failed expectations.

Classic line right there.

Thank you, first of all.

Second off, Do you know what Star vs. is like? To paraphrase gillythekid, it's like a deadbeat divorced dad who does nothing but make promises that it can never completely deliver on. That dad always says things like "We'll go to the zoo next week" or things like "We'll totally go to the mall next time" or "Can we go to the pool next week, something came up" and other stuff like that. And if he doesn't fail to keep his promises completely, he's lazy and half-asses the things that he promises you.

Like going to the zoo when it's rainy and miserable, or going to that really shitty mall that's closing in five weeks and almost all of the stores are completely abandoned. The show does this too, it makes promises all the time. Making promises in a show is an effective tactic, it's why Gravity Falls became as popular as it was, and it worked for this show as well. Hell, when I looked up Crystal Clear on Youtube, all I could find was videos about people fawning over that one screenshot of Eclipsa that was half hidden in the background and totally missable if you didn't pay attention to it... but yet nobody mentioned the annoying problems that episode had, because the promise of seeing Eclipsa was so tantalizing that they didn't stop to ponder the rest of the episode.

The show excels in making promises, but when it comes to delivering... Well...

Hey, viewers! We're going to have a wand fight between Star and Ludo! But it's gonna be a pathetic fight where both of them suck and that's it. Sorry, viewers. We'll do better next time.

Hey, viewers! We're going to have Miss Heinous's revenge scheme! But it only involves a crappy assassin and forcing Marco to make an Internet video. Sorry, viewers. We'll do better next time.

Hey, viewers! Eclipsa is this totally evil witch! But we're not gonna have her show up at all in Season 2. Sorry, viewers. We'll do better next time.

Hey, viewers! Toffee has defeated the Magic Council and is going to battle Star Butterfly, But he'll be taken down in one shot by Star and the fight will be less than three minutes long. Sorry, viewers. We'll do better next time.

Take it from a guy who actually had a deadbeat divorced dad, it's not fun.

Very well said. I just wish this show would at least improve its main characters, because most of the secondary characters are great.

Sorry about your dad by the way.

No worries at all, man. Thanks for that.

But in all serious, I think the show should develop Star and Marco before they work on anyone else.
